Everyone wants a clean car, but according to one study, only 32% of people actually clean out the inside of their vehicle at least once per year. Here at Bill Colwell Ford, we preach the value of car care, and that means doing everything you can to keep your Ford vehicle in good condition. Knowing that, we’ve put together this checklist of things Hudson Ford owners should do to clean the interiors of their Ford cars, trucks, or SUVs.

Interior Car Cleaning Checklist

The following is a list of things you should take care of when cleaning the interior of your vehicle:

#1 Vacuuming

Whether it be crumbs, dust, or those little pebbles your shoe tread drags in, there’s plenty of sediment worthy of vacuuming in your vehicle. Make sure you get the seats, floor mats, and underlying carpet, but don’t forget to use your attachments to vacuum your dash and package shelf, too.

#2 Seat Cleaning

For cloth seats, spread clot cleaner with a sponge and let it sit. When it’s dry, vacuum the seats again and remove any leftover cleaner with a clean towel.

If you have a vehicle with leather seats, use a high-quality leather cleaner to remove any stains or dirt, but don’t scrub too hard and remove the dye in the leather.

#3 Trim Cleaning

Your interior trim and furnishings need a good cleaning, too, so use your favorite cleaner to wipe down your instrument cluster, switches, air vents, and dashboard to keep them looking like new.

#4 Deep Cleaning

There are plenty of other small areas that need a good scrub, too, including:

  • Rearview mirror
  • Cup holders
  • Gear shift
  • Seat belts
  • Steering wheel
  • Armrests
  • Center console
  • Door handles

Make sure you don’t miss any of those while you’re deep cleaning your car, truck, or SUV!

Remember, your Ford vehicle is something special and should be treated as such. Don’t be among those 32% of people who never clean their vehicle. Stay on top of these items and enjoy daily life driving in a clean automobile. And don’t forget we also offer detail services as well!
