The Iowa Automobile Dealers (IAD) Foundation for Education awarded a $2,500 scholarship to Devin Schafer of Des Moines, Iowa. Bill Colwell Ford in Hudson recommended Schafer, who is enrolled in the Ford ASSET program at Des Moines Area Community College, for the scholarship. Devin graduated from Lincoln High School in Des Moines and is the son of Diane and Scott Schafer. He is currently employed at Bill Colwell Ford as a Technician while attending school.

Overall, the IAD Foundation awarded 20 $2,500 scholarships to college-bound students. The recipients are seeking education to begin a career in the automotive industry.

The Iowa Automobile Dealers Foundation for Education is a non-profit entity established in 1995 by the Iowa Automobile Dealers Association. The IAD Foundation’s mission is to support educational, research and charitable activities that positively impact the automotive industry. Since 1998, the Foundation has awarded more than 200 scholarships to the students across Iowa.  The Iowa Automobile Dealers Foundation is a trade association representing more than 300 car and truck dealers in the state. The association was established in 1919.
