About a year ago Bill Colwell Ford made the decision to expand our business and build the Cedar Valley Quick Lane Tire & Auto Center. The main reason we decided to expand was convenience for our customers. Before the Quick Lane our Service Department was swamped. We only had three oil change bays and it might be a couple days before we would be able to service your car. And in today’s world of instant gratification that just wasn’t acceptable anymore. So the decision was made to build a Quick Lane Tire & Auto Center.
Quick Lane is not a new idea. It’s a division of Ford Motor Company and there are actually over 800 locations nationwide and they are mostly owned by local dealerships in their areas. The Cedar Valley Quick Lane Tire & Auto Center is owned and operated by Bill Colwell Ford. Bill Colwell Ford is a franchise of Ford Motor Company, so essentially Quick Lane is a franchise within another franchise. A little hard to follow, but that’s the best way to explain it.
The Quick Lane Tire & Auto Center handles your regular vehicle maintenance, while the Bill Colwell Ford Service Department handles major repairs and warranty work. By separating the two operations, both departments are able to focus on those services, but they also complement each other. For example, let’s say that you bring your car in for an oil change, but then the technician finds something more serious wrong with your vehicle. By having the Service Department right next door, they’re able to move the vehicle over and get it fixed in a timely manner.
At the end of the day it’s about convenience for our customers, and that’s what the Quick Lane Tire & Auto Center is all about.
