When the Ford Ranger returned to active service, we were thrilled. And we wondered what the future would hold. With the 2021 Ford Ranger available at Bill Colwell Ford, the future is now - and it's looking very bright indeed.
2021 Ford Ranger New Features
Some changes for this year are minor, dealing with paint color changes and trim-level tweaks. But there are also two new Ford Ranger option packages on the table. One is a Black Appearance Package, which adds black trimmings.
The other, which we're particularly excited about, is the Tremor Off-Road package. An option for the XLT and Lariat trims (when equipped with the SuperCrew cab and 4WD), it adds upgraded suspension, a 6-switch auxiliary power bank to power accessories like winches, and Continental General Grabber all-terrain tires.
2021 Ford Ranger Performance
The sole powertrain for all trims couples a 270 horsepower EcoBoost I4 engine to a ten-speed automatic transmission. With it, payload is 1,860 pounds (best in its class), and towing is 7,500 pounds, which is the most you'll get in this class with a gas engine.
2021 Ford Ranger Options
Besides cab and box configurations, and a nearly bewildering array of Ford truck accessories and parts, option packages further extend your customization choices. Besides the Black Appearance Package, ask our Hudson, IA Ford dealers about the FX4 Off-Road Package (which adds terrain management, off-road suspension, and an electronic locking rear differential), an FX2 Package that brings similar features to RWD models, and other add-ons.
2021 Ford Ranger Comfort and Safety Features
The base XL trim comes with a pre-collision warning system with pedestrian detection and automatic emergency braking. Stepping up to the XLT trim adds a larger infotainment display, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, and upgrades safety features with the Ford CoPilot 360™ suite. For its part, the Lariat trim adds heated and power-adjusting front seats, leather upholstery, keyless entry and ignition, and a whole lot more, giving your new Ford truck a look and feel closer to a premium SUV.
